After I entered college I Joined a workshop called "Physical computing workshop". It was a club like place where students could work on embedded system computing. I also wanted to do some projects related to embedded systems. So I went back and and started playing with my Arduino. I only knew how to blink a LED in Arduino up to that point. I had to think a project for that workshop. I searched for different projects at the internet. At last I made a decision to create a prototype of a system that can send messages to line when the door is opened by someone.
I bought a servo motor, MFRC522 RFID reader/writer module and starting working on a prototype. I also signed up for a line API. I first coded Arduino to send RFID of the NFC tag to a computer or Raspberry Pi through serial communication when someone takes card near to the sensor. I also wrote a program which runs on computer using python. I used serial module for serial communication using USB. After computer receives RFID it looks for that RFID in MySQL database. And if it finds the valid record in the database then it triggers Servo Motor to open and sends message to line. If someone with wrong RFID tries to open the door then IT would close the servo automatically if it is open. I used college's student ID card as a RFID tag.
